Om Mural

Monroe Township Library

The mural represents Om Parikh’s love of books and optimistic view. The mural was created and painted by her sister. The Om Foundation was started in memory of Om, a Monroe teen who died on Feb. 7, 2018 from a brain tumor.

Monroe Mayor Gerald Tamburro with members of the Parikh family at the Monroe Township Library on Feb. 9. Through the Om Foundation, the Parikh family donated a mural and LEGO table for display and use in the library’s children and tween area.

Makerfest 2019​

The Monroe Township Library held its 5th annual Makerfest on March 23 – the statewide Makers Day celebration. New Jersey Makers Day is an initiative to promote and grow maker culture. Honors society club of Monroe Township High School made buttons to support the Optimistic OM cause at the Makers Fest.
